I always sing the praise of Lakshmi of golden hue and renounce the company of the rich and mean people.  She bestows imperishable prosperity;  The daughter of ocean of milk; Who sports on the chest of Hari.  She is pure white hued – Harini; Whose feet are soft like tender leaves; She holds in her lotus hand: a lily of blue hue; adorned with emerald studded bangles.

She resides in Svetadvipa; She is Kamalamba, who is the supreme spirit.  She illumines both the past and future;  She is the supreme mother worshipped by Bhusuras righteous people; adorned with a garland of lotus and gem – studded ornaments.  She delights in the music of songs and instruments.  She in Indira, in the company of Girija the daughter of Himavan; her face resembles the moon.  She is Cintamani for those who seek refuge in her; adorned with yellow silk.  She is the captivator of Vishnu, uncle of Guruguha and the elegant one.

Oh mother, there is no one but you, are the sanctuary for me, on this earth to save me.  Minakshi! I always believe that you and you alone are the succor to those who surrender unto you.  You the dweller of the city of Madhura!.  Your lotus feet are honored by Vani Sarasvati and Rama Lakshmi. You are Kalyani, who vanquished the demons Madhu – Kaitabhas.  Your gait is like the swan and you shine as the essence of Vedas.  Please grant my wishes and save me swiftly.  Oh Siva! Amba! Is it a burden for you?  You are the beautiful benefactor, Sankar! You are worshipped by Indra, Brahma and others.

Suka Syamala! The sister of noble Syamakrshna, the ever youthful Kaumari, you adorn yourself with the flawless crescent moon! You lips are like Bimba fruit.  You are the treasure trove of infinite compassion, please protect me.   Constantly meditating in my mind upon your pair of feet, I beseech you.  Pray listen Mother, your gait is like that of an elephant in rut.  I do not listen to others words.  Please bestow my wishes, I will always contemplate on you without fail, Oh spouse of the enemy of Cupid – Siva!.  Do you not joyously bestow good fortune and exalted state of bliss expeditiously, to those devotees who seek refuge in you with all their heart, singing your glory and worshipping you?

Can I adequately describe the profound bliss the chanting of Rama Nama gives me?  Who can quantify and quality that bliss?  One who has over the sense organs!  O Sitakanta! The bliss can be experienced only by those who are deeply devoted and attached to you.  Verily Lord Sankara consumes the sugar candy of chanting this name and singing its glory set to music in its three fold aspect of Svara –  Raga – Laya, He is alone aware of the nectarine bliss of the experience.
